I love Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner. It refelcts the chaos of the times but I don't think there is any irony or sarcasm intended. It always seemed like honest patriotism to me.

That's what I get too. :-)

The raw electric guitar sound makes that song sound less "manufactured" and more from the heart. The kids in the audience seem genuinely moved.
