They'rrrrree back.

A Scenes You'd Forgotten retread from over a year ago since I don't think many people saw this and I think it's funny.

Scenes You'd Forgotten (or wished you had) Part 1: Rodent Napkin.

In the 80's fantasy flick "The Beastmaster" our hero played by the great thespian Marc Singer ends a speech rallying the people to fight off the shackles of their oppressors by wiping his face with a ferret. Apparently they're so oppressed they can't afford Brawny.

I don't believe in magic, a lot of superstitious hocus pocus.

Scenes you'd forgotten (or wish you had) Part 5: Indiana Cousteau - Namor's Illigitimate Son.

In Spielberg's classic film "Raiders of the Lost Ark" there remains one scene universally considered by fans of the film to be the Crazy Uncle in the Attic. It's the scene in movie filled with unbelievable stunts and dark magic that unfortunately pushes the button of unbelievability a little too hard.

Indy and Marian escape on a freighter with the Ark but are intercepted at sea by one of Hitler's U-boats. Indy hides on the ship but the Germans capture Marian and the Ark. As the U-boat is just about to leave the freighter's crew spot Indy swimming towards the submarine. Indy climbs abord the sub, scampers up to the control tower and looks around obviously as confused as the audience as to what the hell he's going to do next.

Will he tear open one of the hatches, incapacitate a crewman and hide on the sub until it's destination? Or will he cling to the side of the sub and hope that it doesn't submerge until it reaches it's destination? How will Indy beat the odds this time?

We don't really know because the next few shots are of the Captain of the U-boat ordering his crew to submerge, a map overlay of the U-boat travelling hundreds of miles while the crew go about their work, and the eventual arrival at a secret island U-boat base seen through the periscope (usually used while the sub is underwater if I'm not mistaken.)

Then we see Indy already in the base, dripping and catching his breath as he watches the same U-boat he caught a ride on pull into the cave.

Apparently Indiana Jones can...

A) Hold his breath for a hell of a long time or

B) Telepathically command his fish minions to carry him alongside submarines or

C) Teleport.

They'd be no tribble at all.

Scenes you'd forgotten (or wish you had) Part 4: Scotty is One Sick Puppy.

In the classic Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles" Captain Kirk returns to the bridge at the end of the episode to find all the cute, furry tribbles are gone.

As the rest of the crew evade Kirk's inquiries into what happened to the tribbles Scotty finally admits that he beamed the "whole kit n'kaboodle" over to the Klingon Engine Room right before the Klingons take-off.

Captain Kirk, or should I say "Captain Jerk," and the rest of the bridge crew have a HUGE laugh at this without anyone stopping to ask what will happen to a bunch of furry, defenseless critters sent onto a ship crewed by the most murderously vicious aliens in the galaxy who happen, by the way, to hate cute, cuddly tribbles most of all.

I'll tell you what happened. The Klingons went on a murderous bender. They slaughtered the tribbles en masse. They ate the Tribbles alive, played Klingon foosball with them and generally made a huge mess composed of blood, tribble bits and fur.

Scotty's no hero. He's the man responsible for the Tribblecaust.

There is a girl out there who might be running for her life from some gigantic turned-on ape.

Scenes You'd Forgotten (or wished you had) Part 3: Kong's Little Pink Banana.

In the 1976 version of "King Kong" the giant ape can't seem to decide whether he wants to save Jessica Lange's Dwan or eat her. Most of the audience were hoping for the latter.

The pivotal scene demonstrating Kong's dilemma was the famous "bath" scene in which Kong cleans up the damsel in distress in a lake and then the big louse roughly strips her clothes off with his giant, hairy digit. I'm personally very impressed with this part because I can't even undo a woman's bra using BOTH hands, mush less one finger, but I digress.

There's all sorts of Freudian crap going on here but ultimately one can't watch that scene without helping but wonder whether Kong's mother taught him never to play with his food.

The Impostor did have some "interesting" qualities, wouldn't you say Yeoman?

Scenes You'd Forgotten (or wished you had) Part 2: Vulcan Perv.

In the episode of Classic Star Trek entitled "The Enemy Within" Captain Kirk is split by a transporter accident (I know) into a "good" and an "evil" Kirk. The first thing the evil Kirk does is break into Dr. McCoy's hooch and then attack and try and rape Yeoman Rand.

After all is put right Mr. Spock jokingly mentions the incident to Rand while leering like a school boy at her photon torpedoes. Don't they have an H.R. Manager on the Enterprise? Looks to me like Spock could use a little sensitivity training.
