No. No, you can't get away. From hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

Farewell to Ricardo Montalban who leaves at the age of 88.

He was one of those old-school actors who conveyed gravity just by the timber of his voice. I hope they find him a nice casket lined with fine, Corinthean leather.

I was sorry to see this. I wonder how many of us recall that "fine Corrrinthean Leather" line. My sibs and I used to repeat that line over and over, getting more and more ridiculous with it, until one of the parents would threaten us with death if they heard that phrase from us ever again (or "at least until tomorrow," was the way we heard it). I guess the thing that struck me was he was 88. I don't remember offhand what year Wrath of Kahn came out, but he was not nearly as young as he looked in that movie. An Awesome Dude... I will miss him. He parts with Patrick McGoohan, another guy who could make me a little frightened... or more. Bye, Guys.

great guy, Ioved his talent. Sad but he had a good run.

He was around 60 in Khan. I know I won't look that good when I'm 60. Plus he definitely had that on-screen presence. A cool cat, no doubt.

There's a great anecdote on Mark Evanier's blog. It appears that he had as much grace and class in real life as he did on screen.

I'll also add that Star Trek has never, and more than likely will never have a film (or tv episode) as great as WoK.

@Randal: Yeah. Apparently, it really was his own chest and he was justifiably proud.

Lockwood-

Apparently there was no such thing as Corinthian leather. Chrysler made it up.

I share the sad feelings about McGoohan as well. Another great actor.

Don-

Yup.

Randal-

Cool indeed.

Arkonbey-

I love that story. Thanks for pointing me towards it. So few actors seem to be anything other than jerks.

I'm afraid I've reached the age where I read the obits first.

Ah, he'll be missed.

It may sound silly, but I liked him best at the voice of super villain Senior Senior Senior in Kim Possible. He was just great hamming it up there.

His death is all your fault, you know.
