You take your football down here real serious, don't you?

Thoughts on the Superbowl-

  • The old cliche that "defense wins football games" was certainly true yesterday.

  • Along those lines I realize it's pretty much a given that the quarterback of the winning team in the Superbowl will be named MVP and Eli Manning certainly played great but, for my money, that recognition should've probably gone to Giants DE Justin Tuck who had 2 sacks and 6 tackles or DE Michael Strahan who had 1 sack and 3 tackles. These guys seemed to be everywhere.

  • That fourth quarter reception by Plaxico Burress and Manning's scramble away from the certain sack that preceded it was one for the ages.

  • The game was fun and the commercials were blah. Who would've thunk it?

  • I DID enjoy the Bridgestone commercials featuring the screaming squirrel and the screaming Richard Simmons. The Coke commercial featuring duelling balloons was also cute.

  • A great game like that was fun to watch. What made it even better was watching it with family and friends that I love. :)

That was indeed a hell of a game, and that scramble and toss to Tyree is now an immortal play. I'm with you on the Tuck as MVP thing.

How the hell did Belichick NOT adjust at all in the second half save short tosses to Welker and Faulk? Extra blocker, dude. Yikes.

They were all scared of Janet's nipple...

But I did see a funny one w/Will Ferrell...for beer!

The O-hooooooooooooooooooo-nnnly offensive player worthy of MVP was David Tyree and his impossible hugging the helmet catch. Manning was fine, but shut down most of the game.

In reality, this was a year a defensive player should have one. Tuck and/or Strahan should've gotten the nod.

Dittoes on the Dem Fine company. Thanks for having us, Dean.

Swine-

What's so strange about that is Belichick has literally been coaching circles around everybody else in the NFL all year and then he just sits on his hands in the second half. Like you said - go to Welker and you probably win.

I think there was a lot of cockiness on the Patriots all the way around.

ladybug-

Ferrell is always funny. Good call.

Yeah that catch was amazing. I wish we saw more of you guys. :)
