Since taxpayers are now on the hook to the tune of $80 billion to AIG partly for the decisions Sullivan made as CEO it's the least we can expect that he'll be the first to chip in.
At the very least we need to take every cent that man has to send a message to other executives willing to gamble with so many other people's future. Consider it a deterrent. Sort of like capital punishment.
When you break this down this man and the other executives at his company just stole money from you, me and everybody else that's filled out a W-4. It's long past time that we went a little medieval on their asses.

I.
Couldn't.
Agree.

Give him a choice: give us his money, or go to jail. And not the country club kind; the kind real bad guys go to.
Yep.
I'm buying pitchforks and torches futures. About the only things worth speculating on.
Word.
They're going to do it again. Evil people keep on doing evil stuff until it hurts too much to do evil stuff.

Jail is too good for 'em. To the bastille with the bastards!

I stole that pitchfork comment to use in a real life conversation a minute ago and the person I was talking to thought I was witty. Kudos!

Apparently getting the cops off the beat so they weren't around to stop evil people from doing evil stuff wasn't enough. We have to eliminate the cops altogether.
Even less regulation. Brilliant!
Funny,
A friend of mine has a conservative brother and he had a big argument with his brother that if Obama goes through with his tax plan to raise taxes on corporations it will cause groceries to be more expensive for the regular person. So we should lower taxes for the rich and corporations, that should cut down on the price of everything for us I guess. Idiot.
Huh?
Lowered taxes to corporations have already resulted in higher prices for groceries.
Maybe we should go back to the other way.
It's only right that we take the money back from the thieves who stole it.

Damned straight.
On, that's so unfair Dean. Do you know how much hard work is involved in running a multi-billion dollar company into bankruptcy?
That sort of thing doesn't just happen without the special sort of high paid expertise he brought to the job.
;-)

No, but it would be fun to find out.
I would be happy to help get that Severance package...let's go get it...and see how many ways we can split it..

I'll hold him upside down and shake him and you get the change that falls out of his pockets.
every officer in every bailed out company should be forced to forfeit all salary and benefits -- every one of them
this bailout in many ways is a joke. saving the asses of people who made bad and greedy decisions. where they were smart was using the money all the little people to insulate themselves

Couldn't agree more. There is no way they should be allowed to keep THEIR homes when taxpayers are, in effect, paying for them.
