This isn't Geneva, Colonel.

Jess Wundrun catches the President speaking out of both sides of his mouth on torture. Since there's usually also chaw in there the whole thing is pretty gross.

Yeah. It's the classic 'logic': if x is done to us, it is torture. If we do x to others, it is okay.

Just like the invasion of Iraq was a pre-emptive strike designed to eliminate a military threat, but the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a dastardly sneak attack (and not, of course, a pre-emptive strike to eliminate or diminish the United States'capacity to wage war in the Pacific and prevent/hinder the Japanese Empire's imperialistic plans)

Great point! It's amazing the sort of contortions in logic one would need to go through to seperate these issues morally. Although in the president's case I believe he's dumb enough to simply go with the differences in semantics between "torture" and "interrogation" as if they were somehow meaningful.

Randal-

It's more of a love/ hate relationship. Sort of like those screwball comedies from the 40s.
