I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.

Even the Great Orange Satan of the Daily Kos has pretty much made it a standard to piss on liberals because we have the audicity to insist that health care reform actually include HEALTH CARE REFORM.

The problem with this country right now is that the establishment - Democrats, Republicans and the media - will only allow right-wing solutions to problems which in large part stem from ight-wing policy to begin with.

A bird that tries to fly with one injured wing will fly in circles at best.  At worst it will hit the ground.  Hard.

We don't have wings anymore. We have the Money Party and the People Party. The Money Party has about 98 votes in the Senate and all but a handful in the house. With those numbers, they can afford to play as if the wings had different goals.

The People Party could eviscerate the Money Party, but for the fact that the Money Party has basically hacked the collective psyche of the People Party members into aligning with the illusory wings and against each other.

If the current bill fails, the Money Party wins because they kept the status quo. If the bill passes, they win because countless thousands of people will be forced to purchase a crappy health plan for themselves that have none now.

Meanwhile, the People Party slowly loses the little wealth they have.

I used to put my pants on TWO legs at a time.... kept falling down. I am thinking of skipping the pants altogether.

It still kills me.... the legislators that insist we can not afford health care..... but the War(s) are needed. Thank god for beer.

baby steps, my friend, baby steps.

If you keep hoping for a perfect solution the first time out, you'll go mad.

As flawed as this is, it is still much better than what happened in the 90's, isn't it?

Government works incrementally, rather like Gandalf, the Dwarfs and Bilbo; if you try to do to much, resistance is easier. If you move slowly, things will move forward and end up becoming inexorable.

Late to the party but AMEN!

I was actually hoping for Kucinich to hold out.

And it passed. And I'm delighted. Kind of.

A nice step and more to come. People like a winner. Hopefully that stands, like Obama just bet it all and got some cred back to fix some other Bush BS.
