Child of the kindly West, I have come to know, if more of us valued your ways - food and cheer above hoarded gold - it would be a merrier world.
Those that felt Peter Jackson did a poor job of interpreting Tolkein for the big screen are going to be happy at this news. I'm personally not the least bit happy that my position that Jackson got a lot more right than he did wrong and it could've been much, much worse is about to be vindicated when someone else takes the helm of the Hobbit.

Well matched quote.
I will keep an open mind, but I fear the same as you.
You're talking about me. I'm sure whoever gets their hands on the hobbit will be more than likely to screw it up, and probably no one could have done a better job than Jackson at what Middle Earth should looks like. He still bricked some important THEMES in the story that are what make that story important to me. Missing a theme is a much bigger issue than missing a little favorite plot point. I have no problem with the plot being simplified, but don't mess with the themes! Especially when they are so important to our current situation.
Nuff Said.
Silivren Penna Miriel,
Oh Miriel, Oh Elbereth.
Hey, it's Overdroid. Let's kick his Jackson-hating ass! Hee-yah! Whose with me?
Anyone?
Really?
Um, never mind.
I hear you Droid but what I'd assume from anyone other than Jackson is that pretty much EVERY theme of the books would be "bricked."
I think Don's right. I need to kick your ass.
Are you kidding? He would crush our frail human waterbags.
Not if you wear a cup.
I have already implanted a virus in your DNA that will kill you within 50 years.
END OF LINE.
