I haven't made the blogger rounds in a couple of days but I imagine the news that Clinton may seek convention vote with a reaction approaching the hysterical rending of garments by my fellow Obama supporters.
In this case I think Clinton is absolutely correct when she says “I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified.”
With such votes having a distinct and rich history during past Democratic conventions I really don't see what there is to complain about here.

As I said in the post - I really don't have a problem with a convention vote. There's nothing out of the ordinary there.
One thing I will say is that when Clinton and Obama are fighting, it is on actual issues much more of the time.
The McCain camp has degenerated into poop flinging and hand-wringing over rumors all sucked up and amplified by the useless cable channels into the ears of the gullible.

You're right. The McCain campaign makes the super-juvenile Bush campaign of last election look like scholars.
Dean...
I am not sure what the concern is....wasn't it that she was asking that it go to Creditials Committee ( backroom) that was the real worry ? Is the Floor vote as much of a concern ? I guess I am confused...not ready to rend clothes....
( McCain is jumping the shark daily ....I am hoping the Conventions we atleast hear some real Issues discussed...)
( btw yes, Watergate Summer is my first and main blog....ENIGMA CAFE is just like my little backyard oasis where I go and eat cookies and write poetry...Watergatesummer is political and Life...in generall...and probally alot of McGramps updates at this rate...)

It sounds like we're just talking a floor vote. I honestly for the life of me can't see what that would hurt but I have seem some complaining. Hell, it might add a little drama to the convention.
I don't hold out much hope that we'll hear much about real issues in the conventions, especially the republican convention. Angry screaming seemed to work pretty well for them last time around.
I'm going to link watergate summer as well then. :-) I like enigma cafe for what you have going there.
Dean, I think there should be a symbolic floor vote. And I also think that Clinton should fight like hell to get HER Health Care program on the platform - hers is better than Obama's, and I support Obama. At this point, a floor vote becomes largely symbolic and can actually be a unifying gesture.
Have you weighed in on the whole McCain calling his wife a cunt deal? Why is Cheney not going to be at the GOP Con? Why am I asking off topic questions?
Also contact me at pilarpenobscot@gmail.com for a special postage meter offer.
I'm with you dean. Let 'em all do whatever the hell they want at the convention. They could have seconds duel for all I care. They could run Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel and he'd get my vote over McCain the Poop-Flinger.

I couldn't agree more.

Why am I asking off topic questions?
If you're young then it's probably ADD if you're McCain's age then it could be something worse.
Also- I have a nice postage meter. It's right next to the printing press I use to make $100 bills. Stores won't take 'em though. Something about James Brown never having been president.
Well he's president of MY world.

Oooh, a duel. I like that. But nothing violent. A bikini pillow fight in a vat of pudding.
but then again, you would be logical to point this out and so many people refuse to be logical;0
she sees mccain imploding and running the worst campaign ever
she sees polls (which i think are wrong) going nowhere for obama -- stagnant
she sees an opening
i dont like this...

Thx!

I don't see the scenario you describe as even politically feasible. Even if you accepted the idea that Clinton was some sort of uber-narcissist, grabbing the nomination at this point doesn't seem like it would be very smart strategically. She'd lose half the party.
