No, Sam. I can't recall the taste of food... nor the sound of water... nor the touch of grass.

Shamelessly borrowed from Fark. From where it came before that I haven't the foggiest.

  2. Frighteningly accurate. Odd, isn't it, how we libs can see this in our own leaders, but the 'thugs have such a hard time seeing it in theirs? In fairness, many conservatives did express anger with many actions of the shrub administration. But I don't think, with all their squalling about small government, that they really saw the magnitude of administrative power-grabbing that was taking place.

  3. LW: that reminds me of what a right-wing-ish friend said recently. He said that the 'honeymoon was over' between Obama and his supporters. He thinks it's because Obama's doing to much to move the country to 'European style socialism' (he actually used that phrase) and liberals are waking up to the fact that that is a bad idea.

    When, much the opposite is true: Obama is being a bit too right for some of us.

    Funny how perspective works...

  5. I don't know what the...
    * continuing warrantless wiretapping
    * invoking state secrets
    * not capping bailout executive pay
    * packing the DOJ and Supreme Court with pro-RIAA/MPAA industry insiders
    * denying our recent torture history
    * kicking gay Arabic translators out of the military
    * forgetting about the Patriot Act
    ...you are talking about.

  6. Great post, great comments.

    I've always wondered what would happen to me if I were elected to some high office. Would I be corrupted as quickly as every other politician has been? Is there no one out there who's resisted, besides Kucinich?
