    As much as I dislike him, I thought he was above stupid stuff like this; I guess I was wrong.

    Earth to Newt:of course the CIA lies, it's what the CIA does. It has misled the public, it has misled congress, it has probably misled presidents. It's almost a cliche, anymore.

    What this reminds me of is the priest abuse scandals. We all knew it happened and for years those who pointed it out were berated for demeaning a great institution.

    That being said, it does seem as though Madam Speaker is covering herself. Perhaps she should have asked more questions, especially given the Bush Administration's track record up to that point.
